Today, our Cadets assisted @carmelpoliceny with their Youth Police Academy. Carmel hosts this 6-day summer program for local students entering grades 6th through 8th with the goal of the program being for children to enjoy themselves while gaining an understanding of the demands of police training and service. The Youth Academy consists of physical training, lectures, presentations, hands-on activities, and more.

Last Saturday, 12 of our Cadets graduated from NERLEEA’s Cadet Police Academy. Each Cadet spent the week in one of the academy’s challenging programs. They faced early mornings, marching and drills, physical training, hands-on scenarios, and so much more. Their evenings were filled with friendship building, networking, and fun activities. The week always starts off extremely difficult for our Cadets, pushing them past their limits, but by the end of the week, they don’t want to go home!

We are so proud of our 12 Cadets for a job well done last week! Please join us in congratulating our Cadets for graduating the following programs:

We have received so much positive feedback from our Cadet parents following their Cadet’s week at Camp and we already have several Cadets expressing how excited they are to attend camp next year! Thank you Sheriff Hess for allowing our Cadet and Cadet Advisors to attend camp once again this year. It was a huge success!!

Despite 18 hour days of training, scenarios, academics and more our cadets continued to strive for the same level of excellencethat makes this program an award winning and respected post. Our most recent graduating class has officially joined the ranks with their fellow Phase 2 Cadets!!

Our Cadets got some hands-on training, learning how to handcuff and search a suspect.

Sgt. Kraisky completed a brief training on our Marine Patrol Unit. This summer, our Cadets will not only be awarded the opportunity to go on Patrol Ride-Alongs with our Deputies, but they will also have the opportunity to go out with our Marine Patrol Deputies!!

Next week, twelve of our Cadets will be headed to @nerleea @cadetpoliceacademy ! Parents: Make sure you follow @cadetpoliceacademy for updates throughout the week!!

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Cadets held t

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Cadets held their Phase One Graduation Ceremony on June 15 at Brewster High School.

Twenty-four individuals began the program in November, and after six months of physical training, classroom instruction, and written examinations, twelve dedicated cadets successfully completed Phase One.

These cadets will now advance to Phase Two, where they will participate in more hands-on training and represent the PCSO Cadet Program throughout the community.

Please join us in congratulating the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Cadet Phase One Class of 2026 on this outstanding accomplishment!

Come out and support the PCSO Cadets at their annual Car Wash Fundraiser at Mahopac Firehouse! Proceeds will help us send Cadets to NERLEEA’s Cadet Police Academy this summer! Thank you for your support!

The PCSO Cadets recently participated in NERLEEA’s John Visone Memorial Stations Day at Berlin Fairgrounds in Berlin, CT, where they competed with several other Cadet Posts in the Northeast Region.

Our Cadets placed in 4 out of the 6 events that the participated in and took home the following awards:

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Earlier this month, our Cadets assisted the Child Advocacy Center of Putnam County with their Pinwheels for Prevention Event where several Putnam County Agencies came together to plant pinwheels in front of Lake Gleneida on Route 52 in Carmel. The blue pinwheels is the national symbol for Child Abuse Prevention, representing healthy, happy childhoods.

The PCSO Cadets recently participated in NERLEEA’s Annual Skills Day. The Skills Day program aims to deliver training to cadets from agencies all over the northeast regional area. Skills day focuses on practical, hands-on experience in specific topic areas including but not limited to the following: building searches, patrol responses, tactical response, crisis intervention, search and control, and stop the bleed.

This morning, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Cadets hosted their annual Pancake Breakfast fundraiser at Applebee’s, and it was a great success!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our cadets. We truly appreciate the continued support from our community.

We also want to thank our Cadet Advisors for their continued dedication, as well as Sheriff Brian Hess, Captain Pitt, Carmel Police Chief Anthony Hoffmann, Officer Serio and County Executive Kevin Byrne for stopping by and supporting the program.

We are proud of our cadets and grateful for the strong community support behind them.

Our Cadets still had their weekly meeting- we just brought the PT inside!

After a lesson from PCSO Investigator Radovich on Deceptive Behavior, both our Phase 1 and Phase 2 Cadets went through a grueling round of physical training.

Our Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser is THIS SATURDAY, 3/21 from 8-10 AM at Applebee’s in Brewster!
